In the aftermath of a restructuring on August 2011, the company, which is also the first publicly held Turkish firm in the field, decided to build a fleet of new dry cargo freighters. After swift completion of technical reviews and studies, an agreement was signed on April 2012 with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard located in the Republic of Korea, for the construction of two 39.000 DWT dry cargo freighters.

The freighters compliant with the latest rules and certification requirements of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), will be environment friendly and will have a high economic efficiency. The aim is to commence profitable and safe freight operations with these vessels in 2013 under the Flag of Malta in national and international waters, with a perspective focused on quality standards and safety.
